Dear Rushee,

Being a part of a school as large as Berkeley can be daunting at times. It can be hard to find that group of people who share the same interests, goals, and ambitions as yourself. That's why I encourage you to rush Beta Alpha Psi and see what has kept our chapter truly successful since 1925. Through a variety of workshops, mock interviews, case presentations, speeches, and office tours, we develop tomorrow’s leaders today. And with the help of our vast alumni network, these bright individuals go on to attain their dream jobs.

For me, this fraternity is much more than a “student organization”. I consider my fellow brothers as family, amazing companions that I know will support me in any of my endeavors. Although I pledged young as a freshman, I immediately experienced the benefits this fraternity has to offer the moment I crossed. As a freshman, BAΨ helped me secure an internship with the largest U.S. bank, Citigroup, and then allowed me to pursue my technology interests through a web media startup called Halogen Guides. And now, BAΨ helped me attain an internship with a prestigious private equity firm known as Blue Horizon Equity. In addition, I had competed in Haas’ biggest spring case competition—the Cisco-Deloitte E-Business Case Competition. Along with three other brothers, we not only dominated at the UC Berkeley level, but also went on to defeat Stanford and San Jose State at Cisco’s Headquarters. Such achievements would be unreachable without the encouragement of my brothers—the ones who mentored me, taught me, worked with me, and motivated me to succeed. This is the definition of Brotherhood.

But the important point to take away from my personal story is that I am merely one of fifty brothers in the Lambda Chapter. We each have our own stories, interests and career goals in mind. This, in turn, is what truly differentiates BAΨ. We have a diverse group of individuals who major in everything from biology to rhetoric, but we are united by our genuine personalities and common interest in business. Through the various socials, community service events, and family events, I have formed unbreakable bonds of friendship that I know will last a lifetime.

Pledging BAΨ has been one of the most challenging, yet memorable experiences of my college career. The journey towards brotherhood is difficult, but those who bear the name BAΨ are amongst the brightest and best individuals you will ever come across. Therefore, I invite you to come meet our brothers during Rush to witness the honor and prestige each and every member upholds.

I look forward to meeting you at our Fall 2008 Rush events at the beginning of the semester. The future is near, and it starts here—BAΨ.
